PARK SLOPE RETREAT I Brooklyn NY
Located on Montgomery Place, right across from Prospect Park, this historic townhouse blends Park Slope’s rich history with contemporary design. Known as the Gold Coast, the neighborhood is famous for its opulent mansions, and Prospect Park West Townhouse was included in the first historic designation of the neighborhood in 1973. But this isn't your typical renovation—our clients, prominent art collectors, wanted their collection to shape the architectural design itself.
We transformed the space to seamlessly merge historic charm with contemporary elements. As you move upwards through the house, the design evolves—starting with a historic, grand entry and a modern staircase, moving toward a bright, light-filled sanctuary on the top floor. The pièce de résistance? A rooftop terrace with sweeping views of Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty, along with a serene green roof. From original wood paneling with a hidden bar to a meditation platform across from the majestic primary suite, precious art storage and a sculpture garden, this home is a true masterpiece of eclectic design, effortlessly transitioning from historic opulence to modern minimalism.
